The Egelner Chamber Choir Young Voices (actually Young Voices - Egelner Kammerchor eV ) is a chamber choir from the town of Egeln in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
It was founded in 1997 from 5 alumni and 13 students from Egeln High School . He is known for participating in international competitions and festivals and performing concert tours to the Czech Republic , Austria , Korea , Australia , Russia and the USA across the borders of Saxony-Anhalt .
The Young Voices completed international concert tours as cultural representatives of the city of Egeln, the district and the state of Saxony-Anhalt . These led to Svitavy in 2000 , to Perth in 2005 , where they were received by the Lord Mayor, the Governor of the State of Western Australia and the University of Western Australia , and in 2006, at the invitation of several universities and their Russian partner choir in Murmansk, Russia, with performances in the Murmansk Philharmonic. In 2009 the Young Voices toured Florida, where they a. a. found another partner choir in the choir there at Cypress Lake High School. In spring 2013, the Young Voices visited the Philippines and their partner choir, the Manila Chamber Singers, with whom they performed several concerts.
repertoire
The choir's repertoire includes all common choral music. Folk songs, classical choral music from all eras, pop and spiritual / gospel. The choir sings its works almost exclusively a cappella. Exceptions include a. participation in a performance of “Carmina Burana” in Svitavy (CZ) in 2004 and production of the musical project “Best of Musical” on the occasion of the choir's 10th anniversary in 2007.
Members
The choir consists exclusively of students and alumni of the Egeln high school. It was founded to give alumni of the grammar school the opportunity to continue singing in the choir under the direction of Ralf Schubert.
