Yousif Abba

Ephrem Yousif Abba Mansoor (born June 18, 1951 in Baghdida , Ninawa , Iraq ) is a Syrian Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Baghdad .

Yousif Abba received on 30 June 1978 by Emmanuel Daddi , Archbishop of Mosul , the ordination . He was Chancellor of the Syrian Catholic Church leadership united with Rome of the Archeparchy USA and Canada.

He was elected Archbishop of Baghdad on June 26, 2010 by the Holy Synod of the Syrian Catholic Church . Pope Benedict XVI approved the election on March 1, 2011. The Syrian Catholic Patriarch of Antioch , Ignatius Joseph III. Younan , ordained him episcopally on April 16 that year . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Athanase Matti Shaba Matoka , Jules Mikhael Al-Jamil , Archbishop of the Curia in the Patriarchate of Antioch, and Archbishop Emeritus of Mosul , Basile Georges Casmoussa .
