Yousry Saber Hussein El-Gamal ( Arabic يسري صابر حسين الجمل, DMG Yusrī Ṣābir Ḥusain al-Ǧamal ; Born September 25, 1947 ) is an Egyptian politician .

Life

Yousry Saber Hussein El-Gamal received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Alexandria University in 1968 , a master's degree in computer science from Ain Shams University in 1977 and a doctorate in computer science from George Washington University in 1985 .

In 1971 he was employed at the Egyptian nuclear research center. In 1972 he received a diploma in nuclear electronics from the IAEA . From 1977 to 1987 he taught at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport , measurement and control systems . In 1984 he received the Richard E. Merwin Distinguished Service Award from the IEEE Computer Society .

In 1987 he became dean of the department for electrical engineering and computer science, where he developed a degree course in technical computer science . From 1997 to December 2005 he was vice chairman of the Arab Academy for Education and Scientific Research. Between 2005 and 2010 he was Egyptian Minister of Education.
