Youssef El-Arabi ( Arabic يوسف العربي, DMG Yūsuf al-ʿArabī ; * February 3, 1987 in Caen ) is a Moroccan - French football player who has played as a center forward for the Greek first division club Olympiacos Piraeus since 2019 .
Career
society
Youssef El-Arabi, born in Caen, made his debut for SM Caen in Ligue 1 against Olympique Lyon on December 20, 2008 . After relegation with his club, he was able to score eleven goals in 34 games in Ligue 2 in the following season and thus developed into a regular player in his team. After being promoted directly back to Caen, he scored 17 league goals in the 2010/11 season.
He then moved to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in the summer of 2011 for a transfer fee of seven and a half million euros . There he scored 17 goals in 23 games in the 2011/12 season.
In July 2012 he signed a three-year contract with the Spanish first division club Granada CF.
In July 2016 El-Arabi moved to the Qatari first division to Lekhwiya SC. The club renamed itself for the 2017/18 season after a merger with Al-Jaish in Al-Duhail SC .
In August 2019 El-Arabi moved again to Europe, to Olympiacos in the first Greek league .
National team
On September 20, 2010, he made his debut for Morocco against the Central African Republic . On August 10, 2011, he scored his first international goal in a friendly against Senegal .
