from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yue kiln ( Chinese  越窑 , Pinyin Yuè yáo , English Yue Kiln ) at the site of the old Yue ceramic kiln at Shanglin Hu is famous for its celadon and a ceramic kiln from the Tang era that dates back to the time of the Eastern Han dynasty -Dynasty through the Five Dynasties to the beginning of the Song Dynasty in Cixi , formerly of Yuyao County, in the Chinese province of Zhejiang . You are at the Shanglinhu Reservoir ( Shanglin Hu shuiku ). In the old days the place belonged to Yuezhou越 州 (the "Yue Prefecture"), hence the name of the place.

The kilns in the circles of Yuezhou during the Tang Dynasty all belong to the Yue kilns (out of the seven counties Kuaiji会稽, Shanyin山阴, Zhuji诸暨, Yuyao余姚, Shanxian剡 县, Xiaoshan萧山 and Shangyu上虞). The shade of their glaze color is called qīng (greenish / bluish) in Chinese , with a slightly yellowish tinge. Goods made there have also been discovered in Pakistan , Iran , Egypt and Japan .

The site of the ancient Yue ceramic kilns on Lake Shanglin in Cixi , Zhejiang Province , has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-222) since 1988 .
