Yunaska Island ( Aleutian : Chiĝulax̂ ) belongs to the Aleutian Islands , an island chain between North America and Asia, and is the largest island in the Islands of Four Mountains . On the 173 km² large, 23 km long and approx. 5.5 km wide island there are two volcanoes , which are separated by a valley. From the western, a 950 m high stratovolcano , no eruption is known to this day. The eastern, a 500 m high shield volcano , verifiably erupted for the last time in 1937.
