In 2016, the club had to return to the second division. After relegation, he left the club and joined the Kashima Antlers from Kashima in 2017 . In 2017 he was runner-up with the Antlers. In the game for the Japanese Supercup , the Antlers won 3-2 against the Urawa Red Diamonds . The following year he was the club winner of the AFC Champions League . However, it was not used here. After only three appearances in Kashima, he signed a contract with league competitor Ōita Trinita in Ōita in early 2020 .
