Yves Ker Ambrun

Yves Ker Ambrun (born October 4, 1954 in Tours - † December 6, 2017 ), known as YKA, was a French cartoonist . He worked for Disney , among others , and had his own comic and illustration studio since 2000.

Career

At the age of 13, Yves Ker Ambrun drew and published his first comic, Mesa Boum . He began his drawing training at the age of 17 at the Pratt Institute in New York City and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris . He then worked as a draftsman, character designer and art director for advertising and animation films, as well as for Disney as artistic director for Central and Eastern Europe.

Yves Ker Ambrun's first German publication Flippo und Punkina began in August 1988. He has lived in Darmstadt since 1991 and since 2000 has been running his own comic and illustration studio "Skydog".
