Yves Teicher

Yves Teicher (born March 21, 1962 in Liège ) is a Belgian violinist who has distinguished himself in both classical music and jazz.

Live and act

From the age of seven Teicher received a classical music education at the conservatory in his native town. Building on the solfeggio , he learned to play the violin; in both subjects he received first prize (1976 and 1978/79). He graduated with first prize in chamber music in 1981 and then took private lessons with Ivry Gitlis .

After a period of retreat he went to France, where he was active with the Trio Chorda . His interpretation of the 1st Symphony by Alfred Schnittke with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra was considered a special event in the Netherlands in 1993 and was also broadcast on television. In the next few years he worked on solo programs that he presented. He also began to accompany chanson singers such as Florent Pagny , Serge Faubert , Maurane , Jacky Evrard , Christiane Stefanski and Patrick Husson . He can also be heard on albums by Philippe Anciaux and Selima Al Khalaf .
