Zucker, Abrahams & Zucker (also known as ZAZ ) is the name of the collaboration between the American directors and screenwriters Jim Abrahams and the brothers David and Jerry Zucker , who were mainly responsible for a number of parodies and slapstick comedies in the 1970s and 1980s .

Career

The three first worked together in the 1970s while studying at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . They formed the theater company Kentucky Fried Theater , the name is based on the well-known fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken . In 1977 this formation resulted in the slapstick comedy Kentucky Fried Movie , which consists of a series of skits .

Her first big success was the disaster movie - Parody The incredible journey in a crazy airplane , which marked the beginning of a successful collaboration over the next two decades. This was followed by parodies like Top Secret! or the comedy series Police Squad! , which later became the big screen hit Die nackte Kanone . In the 1990s, the three filmmakers also focused on their own projects.
