Zach Galligan (* 14. February 1964 in New York City as Zachary W. Galligan ) is an American actor .

Life

Zach Galligan was born the son of a psychologist and a lawyer . He himself studied at the prestigious Columbia University .

In 1984 he took on the male lead in the film Gremlins , which became a box-office hit and grossed around 150 million US dollars in the US alone. Zach Galligan, who had previously only appeared in smaller television productions, became an overnight star and repeated his popular role in Gremlins 2 - The Return of the Little Monsters (1990), but much less successfully. He was also known for the lead role of Mark Loftmore in the fantasy film Journey back in time from 1988, which he embodied again in the sequel Spaceshift (1991).

In the 1990s, the New Yorker's acting career stagnated and he subsequently appeared primarily as a guest actor in television series such as Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager , A Heavenly Family and Criminal Intent . In the new millennium he played mainly in independent films from the horror and thriller genre.

Zach Galligan has been married since September 2005.
