action

Zandalee lives in New Orleans and runs a clothing store. She marries the writer Thierry, who runs his father's company. The company is in trouble and Thierry is accused of being old-fashioned. Zandalee soon feels frustrated.

Zandalee starts an affair with Johnny, a friend of her husband's. The lovers have sex in different, sometimes public, places. Thierry finds out that his wife is unfaithful. Zandalee announces their affair has already ended. Thierry goes on a boat trip with Johnny and Zandalee, during which he plunges into the water. Zandalee and Johnny try to save him, but Thierry torpedoes the rescue attempts and drowns.

When Zandalee visits her husband's grave, she meets an acquaintance there. The man tells her that you have to be careful with your wishes because they might come true. She is later visited by Johnny, who pushes for the relationship to be resumed - which she refuses. She goes out on the street and is followed by Johnny.
