Zachary "Zach" Zenner (born September 13, 1991 in Eagan , Minnesota ) is an American American football player in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the Arizona Cardinals as a running back .
Early years
Zenner went in his hometown of Eagan , Minnesota , to the high school . Between 2010 and 2014 he attended South Dakota State University . He has run over 2,000 yards for the college football team for the past three years .
NFL
Detroit Lions
After Zenner was not selected in the 2015 NFL draft , he signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions on May 2, 2015 . He began his first NFL season as the fourth backup running back for the Lions. On October 30, 2015, Zenner was put on the Injury List after sustaining a rib injury in the game against the Chicago Bears , which put him out of action until the end of the season.
He was used more often for the 2016 season . He also benefited from a foot injury to Ameer Abdullah . On October 23, 2016, in the game against the Washington Redskins , he scored the first touchdown of his NFL career. A season later he only received short assignments.
He was released on August 27, 2019.

On October 16, 2019, the New Orleans Saints signed him . He was released on October 22, 2019.
