Zaifeng ( Chinese  載 灃  /  载 沣 , * February 12, 1883 in Beijing ; † February 3, 1951 ibid), also known as Prince Chun II , was the father of the last Chinese emperor Puyi . From 1908 to 1911 he was regent of the empire and thus the last ruler of the Qing dynasty . He was a younger half-brother of Puyi's predecessor, Emperor Guangxu . In 1901, he was the highest-ranking participant in the so-called “Atonement Mission” to the German Reich , to which China had to commit itself after the Boxer Rebellion was suppressed by Western and Japanese troops .
