Muhammad az-Zantani ( Arabic الزناتي إمحمد الزناتي az-Zantānī Imhammad az-Zantānī , DMG az-Zantānī Imḥammad al-Zantānī ) was head of state of Libya between 1992 and 2008.

He was Secretary General of the General People's Congress and from November 18, 1992 de jure head of state of Libya, which has been de facto ruled by Muammar al-Gaddafi since 1969 .

He is also the owner of one of the largest oil companies in the world, Tamoil , which also operates a network of petrol stations in Europe.
