Aguila Saleh Issa el-Obeidi ( Arabic عقيلة صالح عيسى العبيدي, DMG ʿAqīla Ṣāliḥ ʿĪsā al-ʿUbaidī ; * January 1, 1944 in Gubba ) is a Libyan lawyer and politician who has been the chairman of the Council of Representatives (President of Parliament) since August 5, 2014 . He is politically independent.

Aguila Saleh Issa held several offices in the judiciary under the dictator Muammar al-Gaddafi, who was ousted in 2011, and was then elected MP for the city of Gubba in the east of the country. Because of the powerful militias in Libya , he called on the United Nations (UN) to intervene. He said: "We are still waiting for an intervention from the international community that will protect the Libyan people and stop the bloodshed."

After standing on Khalifa Haftar's side for a while , he increasingly distanced himself from him in early 2020. He is said to have ambitions for the highest office of the state himself.
