The violence colliery in Essen-Überruhr -Hinsel is a former hard coal mine, the colliery was in operation for more than 140 years.
Mining history
Hard coal was mined as early as 1770, probably even earlier . The main sales area for coal was the Bergisches Land. In 1803 the United Force Mine Owners Association was founded. Since, according to the Rellinghauser Observanz, coal mining did not fall under the mountain shelf and was therefore free mining , no entitlement was granted. This year there were conveyor tunnels and water solution tunnels . Later, an artificial shaft was sunk below the bottom of the tunnel for mining . Old substation structures could be approached through this shaft . The award took place on April 18, 1810, and at the same time as the award the permit for civil engineering was granted. The reason for this was the unification of the mines Kuckuck, Violence and Neuglück for joint civil engineering. That year the Franz and Charlotte shafts and an art shaft were in operation. On 7 December of the same year was on Kunstschacht water entertainment - steam engine by Franz Dinnendahl commissioned. In 1811 the mine was still in operation and work began on sinking the Conrad shaft for the new civil engineering. The starting point for the shaft was located between today and Antropstraße Gewalterberg, the shaft was a Göpel equipped. The deepest floor of the shaft had a depth of 19 laughs and was therefore +58 meters above sea level . In 1813 the Conrad, Franz and Lisette pits were in operation. In July of the same year there was a consolidation with the coal mine Neuglück to the coal mine United Violence .
