The mine ship's rudder in Bochum district Stiepel is a former coal mine . The mine was located west of the Kemnader Ruhr Bridge .

Mining history

The mine was in operation from 1776. In 1800 the mine was closed in time limits . On December 31, 1803, a length field was awarded . On January 2nd, 1832, the mine was put back into operation. A tunnel was set up west of the Stiepeler Mühle . The tunnel was north ascended . In 1833 the tunnel was driven further, in that year 5,446 bushels of hard coal were mined. In 1834 coal was initially mined further , 11,859 bushels of hard coal were mined . During the rest of the year, only alignment work was carried out. In the following year, 2,701 bushels of hard coal were mined in the first half of the year, from June of the same year the mine was out of operation. From January 1836 prospecting work was carried out again . In December of the same year the tunnel reached the marrow of the Gibraltar hereditary tunnel . The ship's rudder colliery was shut down in the same month. In 1838 the mine merged with other mines to form the colliery Schiffsruder, Beschertes Glück & Beschertesglück side banks . This union lasted until 1852, when the mine consolidated into the United Ship Rudder Colliery .
