The Thiesgracht colliery is a former hard coal mine in Mülheim -Fulerum. The mine was also known under the names Zeche Theisgracht and Zeche Thiesgracht in Hammelsbeck .

Mining history

The mine was already in operation towards the end of the 18th century. In 1813 the Seigere weather shaft 4 was sunk . The shaft was ten laughs deep . In April of the same year, operations began with six miners and hard coal was mined . From the year 1816 the extraction took place in substation construction . In the same year, work began on sinking a new shaft. In the following year, the sinking work was continued, there was no dismantling. This year 17 people were employed at the mine. Alignment work was carried out in the mine field in 1819 . In 1821, mining took place, but the mine was out of order in May. From May of the following year, old coal piers were dismantled. From 1823 the mine was in time limits . In the year 1826 hard coal was only mined in March, from April of the same year the mine was closed. In 1844 the mining license was granted . In 1851 the Thiesgracht colliery consolidated into the United Wiesche colliery .
