The ten-leaved mentcelia ( Mentzelia decapetala ) is a species of the genus Mentzelia in the nettle family (Loasaceae).
features
The ten-leaved mentcelia is a biennial or perennial plant that reaches heights of 20 to 130 centimeters. The flowers sit individually at the end of the stems . They open in the evening and are fragrant. The 10 petals are white or yellowish in color, pointed and 4 to 8 centimeters long.
Flowering time is from August to October.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 22.
Occurrence
The ten-leaved mentcelia occurs in the USA in the Rocky Mountains, Montana and North Dakota to Texas in prairies and on rocky slopes.

The ten-leaved mentcelia is rarely used as an ornamental plant for outdoor succulent beds.
