Zenta Kopp

Kreszentia "Zenta" Kopp , b. Gastl, (born December 29, 1933 in Munich ) is a former German athlete . She was successful for the Federal Republic from the 1950s to 1964 in the 80-meter hurdles . Her greatest successes are the world record in 10.6 s (July 29, 1956 in Frechen ) and the silver medal at the European Athletics Championships in Stockholm in 1958 with 10.9 s.

At German championships between 1952 and 1964 she won five championship titles, three runners-up and a third place in the 80-meter hurdles. In addition, she was twice third and once second with the 4 x 100 meter relay of TSV 1860.

She also started at the European Championships in 1954 and the Olympic Games in 1956 and 1960 , where she was eliminated in the interim, in 1956 in Melbourne as a world record holder and favorite. Zenta Kopp first belonged to the sports club MTV 1879 Munich before moving to local rivals TSV 1860 Munich in 1954 . In her competition time she was 1.75 m tall and 62 kg heavy.
