The Center for Albanological studies ( Albanian  Qendra e Studimeve Albanologjike , pronunciation: [cɛnˌdɾa ˌɛ ˌstudiˌmɛvɛ ˌalbanɔlɔɟikɛ] shortly QSE ) is one of the most important scientific research institutions of the Albanian-speaking world. It was founded in 2007 by the government of the Republic of Albania and is based in the Albanian capital, Tirana , near the university .

management

The highest management has the academic senate (alb. Senati Akademik ), to which twelve scientists belong.

The office (alb. Kancelaria ), chaired by Arben Skënderi, is responsible for the administration and finances .

The head of the office is also a member of the board of directors (alb. Këshilli i Administrimit ), to which a total of seven scientists belong. The chairman of the board of directors is Elvana Metalla. The Board of Directors is a legislative body that monitors and controls the Centre's activities. These include, but are not limited to, management of administration, finance, economics, property, etc.

The Center for Albanological Studies was established as part of the restructuring and modernization of the Albanian academy and university system by Government Resolution No. 559 of August 22, 2007. For this purpose, the anthropological-artistic, the archaeological, the linguistic-literary and the historical institute were combined in one institution. The Scientific Research Institute was also attached to the center.

tasks

The Center for Albanological Studies conducts scientific research in Albanology , more precisely in the four areas of cultural anthropology / art history , archeology , linguistics / literature and history . There are archives and libraries run as well as projects and studies carried out. For example, an Albanian encyclopedia has been worked on since 2010 .

The center is an inter-university institution and also offers master's and doctoral courses.
