The Zeppelin Stadium is a football stadium with an athletics facility in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance . The sports facility stands out due to its futuristic roofing over the main stand. The roof is arranged like four parasols standing next to each other.

history

The Zeppelin Stadium has been the home of VfB Friedrichshafen since 1919 . It was built in the working-class district of Zeppelindorf with the support of Zeppelin Wohlfahrt, which provided 20,000 Reichsmarks . The stadium received its first grandstand in 1925. In 1941 the audience capacity was 5,000. After a complete renovation in 1998, there is currently 12,000 spectators in the stadium. The attendance record dates from 2008, when 8,000 spectators the part of the German U-20 national football team of men against the U20 team of Italy attended. At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the stadium was the training center for the Iranian national soccer team . The final event of the Baden-Württemberg State Gymnastics Festival 2008 took place with a show program in the Zeppelin Stadium in Friedrichshafen.
