Zero Assoluto (Italian for “ absolute zero ”) is an Italian pop-rock duo founded in 1995.
history
The two Roman musicians De Gasperi and Maffucci met in high school and founded the Duo Zero Assoluto in 1995 . The first single Ultimo capodanno they recorded in 1999, where they were able to win Francesco Totti for the music video . In 2002 the singles Magari meno and Tu come stai appeared , and the following year the duo was able to increase its popularity through appearances on radio and television. In 2004 it released its first album Scendi under its own label Sugo , which included songs like Mezz'ora , Minimalismi and Semplicemente ; The latter in particular helped the duo achieve their final breakthrough.
With Svegliarsi la mattina Zero Assoluto entered the Sanremo Festival 2006 and reached second place in the band category and the final of the overall ranking. The single was then able to advance to number one on the Italian charts and stay there for eight weeks, making it the best-selling single of the year. The successor single Sei parte di me brought the duo the award as “Discovery of the Year” at the Festivalbar competition in the summer of the year and again reached the top of the chart (third place in the annual ranking). Parallel to his musical activity Maffucci also published books, in 2007 he published his first novel Spielberg ti odio bei Rizzoli .
At the Sanremo Festival 2007 , the duo achieved ninth place with Appena prima di partire . The album of the same name was then released. In 2008 Zero Assoluto recorded the song Win or Lose (Appena prima di partire) with Nelly Furtado , an English version of their Sanremo contribution for the international market. The single Per dimenticare introduced the next album Sotto una pioggia di parole in 2009 . Perdermi followed in 2011, and Alla fine del giorno in 2014 . In 2016 the duo returned to Sanremo, where they missed the final with Di me e di te . The album of the same name was then released.
