Zhang Ben ( Chinese  張 犇  /  张 犇 , Pinyin Zhāng Bēn ; born July 22, 1985 in Harbin ) is a former Chinese ice hockey player who took part in eight world championships and the 2010 Winter Olympics during her active career between 2003 and 2013 . She completed at least 59 games in major tournaments or competitions in which she collected over 25 scorer points .

Career

Zhang Ben, who played for the team from her native Harbin , first took part in a major tournament with the Chinese national team at the 2004 World Cup at the age of 18 . Further missions followed in the years between 2005 and 2009 , in which Zhang Ben also represented her home country at the world championships in the top division. She also took part with the Chinese national team in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons out of competition in the championship of the Finnish Naisten SM-sarja .

From 2007 onwards, Zhang Ben only appeared with the Chinese national team and her local team from Harbin. After relegation from the top division of the World Cup in 2009, she completed three World Cup tournaments in Division I until she retired in 2013. In addition, she represented her country at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and won the Asian Winter Games 2011 bronze medal. She also took part in the IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia 2012 , where she and the team came second.
