Zhong Wei ( Chinese  钟伟 , Pinyin Zhōng Wěi ; born July 30, 1998 in Orland Park , Illinois , as Peter Zhong ) is an American - Chinese ice hockey player who has been working for the Arizona Sun Devils, the team at Arizona State University , since 2017 , plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

Career

Zhong Wei, known as Peter Zhong in the United States, began his career as a hockey player with the Chicago Mission , where he went through various age groups. He also played for Beijing Ice Hockey from 2013 to 2015, where he made his debut in the Chinese league at the age of 15 . In 2015 he was selected by the Wichita Falls Wildcats in the third round of the NAHL Entry Draft as the 71st player, but did not move to Texas, but to league rivals Aston Rebels, who called themselves Philadelphia Rebels from 2016. Since 2017 he has played for the Arizona Sun Devils, the Arizona State University team , in the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

International

For China, Zhong Wei took part in the U18 World Championships in Division II in 2014 and 2015 in the junior division .

The striker played with the men's national team for the first time at the 2018 World Cup in Division II.
