Jan Ziekow

Jan Ziekow (* 1960 in Berlin ) is a German legal scholar and director of the German Research Institute for Public Administration .

Career

Ziekow studied law in Bielefeld and Berlin. After the first (1985) and second (1990) legal state exam doctorate he in 1992 at the Free University of Berlin with Dieter Wilke Dr. iur .; In 1996 he completed his habilitation there for the subjects of legal and constitutional history , public law and European law . From 1996 to 1997 Ziekow was then professor for public law at Bielefeld University; since 1997 he has held the chair for public law, in particular general and special administrative law , at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer . In June 2003, Ziekow turned down a call to the chair for public law, administrative law and administrative theory at the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg. On December 1, 2015, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the National University of Mongolia (NUM).

His main research interests are constitutional law , administrative procedural law, administrative organization and procedural law , construction and planning law , economic administrative law and environmental law .

Editorships

He is co-editor and editor of the administrative archive . He is also co-editor of the series "Contributions to Procurement Law" (with Thorsten Siegel ), published by Duncker & Humblot Verlag, as well as the journal for state and local law Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland. He is also a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Veraberecht".
