The Zieskensee (also called Ziese ) is a lake in the northeast of the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district within the municipality of Kuckssee in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Not far from the lake is the nature reserve Kuckssee and Lapitzer See , which connects almost seamlessly to the bird sanctuary of the Malliner See .
The Zieskensee is 800 meters long, up to 250 meters wide and at its deepest point about eleven meters deep, otherwise the average depth is between four to six meters. As a bathing lake, the Ziese has a sandy beach section about 50 meters long on its west bank.
The lake shore is hilly and in the west, on the so-called Räuberberg, is lined with a small wooded area of pines and larches, otherwise the lake is surrounded by a narrow belt of deciduous trees such as alders, willows and poplars, and occasionally oaks. In the west, the mountain ranges with the Räuberberg reach 68.3 m above sea level. NHN , in the northwest with the so-called Mühlenberg 77.2 meters, in the east with the Kukuksberg up to 73.8 meters.
The lake is a glacial channel lake . It was created by the glaciers of the Pomeranian stage of the Vistula Ice Age .
