The Malliner See is a lake in the municipality of Kuckssee in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The eponymous place Mallin is about one kilometer northeast of the lake. The lake belongs to the European bird sanctuary "Kuppiges Tollensegebiet between Rosenow and Penzlin". Not far from the western shore there is an FFH area and the nature reserve Kuckssee and Lapitzer See . The lake is 2090 meters long, up to 500 meters wide and very shallow. The shores of the lake are mostly unforested and marshy .
The Malliner See was created in connection with the glacier advances of the Pomeranian stage of the Vistula glaciation . It lies in a glacial channel in the ground moraine.
Federal highway 192 runs south of the lake .
