The cilician timeless ( Colchicum cilicicum ) is a species of the genus of the timeless ( Colchicum ) in the family of the timeless plants (Colchicaceae).
features
The Zilizische Zeitlose is a perennial bulbous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 28 centimeters. The leaves measure 30 to 40 × 5.5 to 7 (rarely 4 to 11.5) centimeters. They are erect, elliptical to lanceolate, obtuse and appear soon after the flowering period. There are 3 to 25 flowers . The perigone often show only a weak checkerboard pattern. They are pale lilac-purple to deep purple-pink, hairy along the stamen canals and measure 50 to 75 (rarely from 40) × 12 to 25 millimeters. The anthers are yellow. The stylus is usually longer than the perigone. The scars are punctiform and run down less than 1.5 millimeters from the stylus.
The flowering period extends from August to September, rarely until October.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 54.
Occurrence
The cilizian timeless comes in southern Turkey (excluding the east), in Syria and in Lebanon (i.e. in ancient Cilicia as well as west and south of it) on rocky slopes, on stream banks, in oak and pine forests as well as between limestone blocks at altitudes from 35 to 1980 Meters ahead.

The cilizean timeless is used as an ornamental plant in lawns, wooded edges and borders. It has been in culture since 1571 at the latest.
