The Zimmertalskopf (also called Bodohöhe ) is 412  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in Vogler near Kirchbrak -Breitenkamp in the Lower Saxony district of Holzminden . The Bodoturm observation tower stands on its summit .

Geographical location

The Zimmertalskopf rises in the western part of the Vogler between the town of Bodenwerder on the Weser in the northwest, its district of Rühle in the southwest and Breitenkamp, ​​a district of the Kirchbrak municipality, in the east. Its summit is on the landmarks of Bodenwerder.

Bodo tower

The so-called Bodoturm, built in 1978, stands on the top of the Zimmer Valley . This 20 m high steel lattice tower was named after knight Bodo von Homburg, overlord of the city of Bodenwerder in the 12th and 13th centuries. Century named.

The Bodoturm was built by Werftunion GmbH & Co. Arminiuswerft Bodenwerder on behalf of Verkehrsverein Bodenwerder-Kemnade eV, the statics being calculated by the engineering office Peter Schierske in Hameln. The current Bodoturm is the third observation tower on the Zimmertalskopf. From 1911 to 1933 and from 1957 to 1977 there was an observation tower on the top of the Zimmer Valley.

The tower was temporarily closed (as of August 2015) for security reasons, but according to the current status (September 2018) it is again released for inspection.
