Zina Kocher (born December 5, 1982 in Red Deer ) is a former Canadian biathlete .

Kocher starts for the Rocky Mountain Racers . The student has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2001 and is trained by national coach Roger Archambault. She lives in Canmore .

Zina Kocher has been involved in biathlon since 1998 . In the World Cup she made her debut in 2002 at the fourth station of the year, Oberhof . She collected her first points as 26th in a single race in 2003 in Osrblie . In the sprint at the same World Cup she was in the top 10 for the first time. In the next two years she could not repeat these good results, it was only in 2005 that she was able to place again in the top 20 of the World Cup.

Since then she has been regularly in the points and with a third place at the season opener of the 2006/07 season in Östersund reached a top rank for the first time and thus the breakthrough into the world elite. After Myriam Bédard, she is only the second Canadian biathlete to have achieved this.

Her career was interrupted after she was diagnosed with glandular fever in October 2007 . Only after three months was she able to make her comeback in the World Cup in Antholz .

Since 2003 Kocher took part in four world championships, but could not achieve a good placement. With the Olympic Games 2006 by Turin , she started in the individual, sprint and however in the season, could reach again no top places. Zina Kocher took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her best result was 65th place in the sprint. With the relay she finished 15th.

To raise money for her sport, Kocher took part in the Bold Beautiful Biathlon calendar project.
