Zipfelpass

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zipfelpass was presented in Dresden on the Day of German Unity in 2000 . It is published by the cities and communities of Görlitz , List on Sylt , Oberstdorf and Selfkant, which have joined together to form a Zipfelbund . It is based on a (former) passport of the Federal Republic of Germany and is intended to give the Zipfelpass holder the opportunity to collect stamps from the relevant town halls or tourist information centers. Anyone who has collected the four stamps within four years can enjoy the Zipfel package, which includes local products from the four corners. In order for the Zipfelpass to be stamped, the holder must be able to prove at least one overnight stay in the respective location.

The 50th “Zipfelstürmer” was welcomed to List on May 1, 2003, and there are now around 500 (as of October 5, 2009). The tips were reached in a wide variety of ways: Some have conquered the places by bike, the Belgian Antoine Meiersonne hiking and Peter Ritz riding. The passengers of the “Taxi around Germany”, who were driven around the republic in 2006 in a “Zipfeltaxi”, were more comfortable.

Anke Franzen is the current record holder for traveling to all four Zipfelgemeinden; Within 71 hours from June 7th to 10th, 2019, she traveled to all four corner communities, each including one overnight stay. Her two dogs, male Nanuq and female Tikaanee, were always there. This undercuts the previous record by five hours.

Before that, Ralf Willeke held the record with his daughter Pia. From September 18 to 22, 2017 you needed around 76 hours.

Until then, Jochen Gölitz from Halver held the record; Within 80 hours from April 23rd to April 26th, 2013, he traveled to all four corner communities.

Jörg Kachelmann , Zipfelpass holder and former weatherman of the ARD , has also traveled to all corners - as a business trip. All four locations now have Kachelmann weather stations . In 2008 he was the first to receive the “Deutsche Zipfel Prize” for this.
