history

TC Ziraat Bankası A.Ş. founded her first representative office in Germany in 1964 and increased its number to ten over time. In 1988, due to the increased economic relations between Germany and Turkey as well as the increasing demand for Turkish banking services, especially by people of Turkish origin, a branch with a full banking license was established in Frankfurt am Main and the representative offices were converted into branches. In 2001, today's Ziraat Bank International AG was founded in Germany by taking over the previous branch and merging it with the former subsidiary Deutsch-Türkische Bank AG.
