The lemon butterflyfish ( Chaetodon miliaris ), also called millet-grain butterflyfish , is a species of the butterflyfish family .
The lemon butterflyfish reaches a length of up to 13 cm. It lives solitary, in pairs or in large schools in the Pacific near Hawaii , where it is the most common butterfly fish. He has been observed from a diving boat at a depth of 250 meters.
Lemon butterflyfish feed on plankton and are also spawning predators. In large schools they plunder the clutches of damselfish , which cannot defend themselves against the mass of attackers.
