Zoe Hobbs gained her first international experience in 2013 at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she was eliminated in the semi-finals with 11.97 seconds in the 100-meter run and also failed in the prelim with the New Zealand sprint relay (1000 meters). In 2016 she reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where she was eliminated with 11.67 seconds, while she was disqualified with the 4 x 100 meter relay in the preliminary run. In 2017 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei for the first time , where she was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters with 11.85 s, while she was eliminated in the first round of the 200-meter run with 24.33 s. In 2019 she won the Oceania Championships in Townsville in 11.56 s over 100 meters and won the silver medal over 200 meters in 23.68 s behind the Australian Riley Day . Then she reached the final over 100 meters at the Student World Games in Naples and was eighth there in 11.55 s. Over 200 meters she finished seventh in 23.52 s and with the 4 x 100 meter relay she won the bronze medal behind Switzerland and Australia with a new national record of 44.24 s. At the end of September she took part in the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated in the first round over 100 and 200 meters with 11.58 s and 23.94 s respectively.
From 2017 to 2019 Hobbs was New Zealand champion in the 100-meter run as well as in 2017 and 2019 in the 200 meters and in 2018 with the 4 x 100 meter relay.
