Riley Day (born March 30, 2000 in Beaudesert ) is an Australian sprinter .

Athletic career

Riley Day contested her first competition at international championships at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau , where she won the 200-meter run in 23.42 s and won the silver medal in the 100 meters in 11.59 s. About 200 meters they qualified for the World Championships in London , where she's in 23.77 in advance eliminated. In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast for the first time and was eliminated there over 200 meters in 23.24 s in the semi-finals. In addition, she was disqualified in the final with the Australian 4 x 100 meter relay. In July she reached the semi-finals at the U20 World Championships in Tampere in the 100-meter run , in which she was eliminated with 11.67 s. She also reached the semi-finals over 200 meters, in which she did not start. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she finished sixth with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.62 s and then won the Oceania Championships in Townsville in 23.51 s over 200 meters and in 44, 47 s with the relay. Then she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters at the Summer Universiade in Naples , in which she was eliminated with 23.56 s. In addition, she won the silver medal behind Switzerland with the relay in 43.97 s.

In 2018, Day became the Australian champion in the 100 and 200 meters. She is a student at Griffith University in Gold Coast.
