The white grape variety Zolikouri ( Georgian ცოლიკოური ) comes from Georgia. Today it is widespread mainly in Georgia (there mainly in the wine-growing region of Imeretia) and is also cultivated in Ukraine and Bulgaria .

The grapes are very similar to the Rkaziteli variety . The late ripening tsolikouri - as it is often written - produces finer wines that can be stored well .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The large leaves (see also the article leaf shape ) are three-lobed and barely curved.
  • The grape is small to medium in size and shouldered. The slightly oval berries are small and golden yellow in color.

The grape variety ripens about 30 days after the Gutedel and is therefore considered to ripen late in international comparison.

The variety's yields are consistently good. Zolikouri is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).
