Zora del Buono

Zora del Buono (born December 21, 1962 in Zurich ) is a Swiss architect , journalist and writer .

Life

Zora del Buono grew up in Zurich and Bari . Nikolaus Gelpke was her classmate at the high school in Zurich .

She studied architecture at the ETH Zurich and at the University of the Arts Berlin , graduating in 1990 with a diploma. From 1990 to 1995 she worked as an architect in Berlin, after which she completed a postgraduate degree in scenography .

In 1996 she was co-founder and culture editor of the marine magazine Mare , the editor-in-chief of Mare is Nikolaus Gelpke. From 2001 to 2008 she was deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine.

She presented her debut novel Canitz 'Desires in 2008. The southern novel Big Sue followed in 2010 . Her travel book One Hundred Days of America: Encounters between Newfoundland and Key West was awarded the ITB BookAward 2012 as a literary travel book . In 2015, the Gotthard novella followed , which takes place on one day around the work of the Gotthard Base Tunnel . In the same year, she published her literary travel book The Life of the Mighty - Journeys to Ancient Trees , for which she visited 14 of the oldest trees in the world. Her campus novel Hinter Büschen was published in 2016, leaning against a house wall, for which she received an award from the city of Zurich in 2016 and from the Canton of Zurich in 2017.
