King Qie Yi ( Chinese 且 乙 ) (*? BC; † 1507 BC) ruled China as the thirteenth or fourteenth king of the Shang Dynasty for 19 years (based on the record in the historical work Zhushu Jinian ) . He was the son of King He Dan Jia because of the record in the Shiji history , but because of the record of the oracle bones , he was the son of King Zhong Ding . During his era, the Shang dynasty flourished once again. He moved the capital from Xiàng ( Chinese 相 ) to Gěng ( Chinese 耿 ) and then again to Bì ( Chinese 庇 ) (according to another source, to Xíng ( Chinese 邢 ), the places are all in today's Henan Province , China ).
Comments on the temple name
Because of Shiji , the king with the temple name is said to be Zhong Zong Tai Wu , but because of bamboo annals and oracle bones from Yinxu , the Zhong Zong is said to be King Qie Yi. According to some, this is supposed to be a mistake in Shiji.
