To the Holy Family (Griesbachmühle)
A Roman Catholic chapel in the hamlet of Griesbachmühle near Friedberg ( Swabia ) is a listed building belonging to the Holy Family .
history
The chapel was built in 1863. There was probably a previous building, but nothing is known about it. The chapel was extensively renovated in the early 1960s.
Building description
The chapel is a simple rectangular building with a semicircular end and an eastern square tented roof tower .
Furnishing
The figures of the crucifixion group , the corpus of Christ, Mary and St. Vitus are by Johann Caspar Öberl . The other popular figures from the middle of the 18th century depict the Lamentation of Christ , the Holy Helper Antonius , Saints John Nepomuk , Afra , the religious saint Benedict and his sister, Saint Scholastica .
