Zwetnopolje ( Russian Цветнополье ), also Blumenfeld ( Russian Блюменфельд , unofficial), is a Russian-German village in the German nationality of Azovo in the Russian Oblast of Omsk in western Siberia .
geography
It is located about 60 kilometers as the crow flies southwest of Omsk and about 25 kilometers south-southwest of the Azovo Rajon center .
Zwetnopolje is the seat of the rural municipality of Zwetnopolskoe selskoje posselenije, which also includes the village of Rosa-Dolina (formerly Rosental in German ), which is 5 km to the south-east, and Aul Bakse, about 4 km to the south (formerly inhabited by Kazakhs , uninhabited since the 2000s at the latest) belong.

history
Volga-German resettlers founded the village in 1906, which they called Zwetnopolje (flower field) in memory of their place of origin ; the Russian and German names are synonymous. There is a middle school in the village where German is the mother tongue. Between 1991 and 1998, 8,990 people emigrated from the area to Germany, including from Zwetnopolje.
