history

Beda Sommerberg was abbot of the Benedictine monastery in Zwiefalten from 1715 to 1725. At the age of 26 he became a monk in the Zwiefalter monastery and was given the name of the Anglo-Saxon monk Beda , who lived in the 8th century . During his tenure, the construction of the new brewery began in 1724 .

The brewery has belonged to the Baader family since 1897.
