Zwole

The Lords of Zwole ( Zvolští ze Zvole in Czech ) are a Moravian Vladiken family .

The family of the Lords of Zwole named themselves after their ancestral seat Zvole , which was given to them in 1273 as a fief of the Olomouc bishopric . The Vladiken von Zvole, who also owned the surrounding feudal estates, were also given the office of Bailiff of Mürau in the middle of the 14th century after the episcopal feudal administration was relocated from Müglitz to Mürau Castle .

The lords of Zwole reached their heyday in the 15th century. They acquired other feudal lords, including Goldenstein , Hultschin and Hotzenplotz . In 1567, Johann Thomas von Zwole ( Jan Tomáš ze Zvole ) was raised to the rank of master .

The line “von Zwole and Goldenstein” (Czech ze Zvole az Kolštejna ), located in northern Moravia, was one of the advocates of the Catholic faith in the Hussite Wars and in the subsequent period. In the second half of the 15th century there were frequent disputes between the lords of Zwole and Goldenstein and their neighbors, the Tunkl of Brníčko and Zábřeh , who were on the side of the Hussites.

In Silesia the family u. a. Hultschin (1517), Slawentzitz (1604) and Ujest (before 1644).
