The list of important sports clubs in Winterthur contains current and former sports clubs from the city of Winterthur that are relevant according to the admission criteria of Wikipedia.

The umbrella organization Winterthur Sport represents 114 member clubs in Winterthur, which unites over 23,000 athletes. Even if no Winterthur football club is currently playing in the top league, the list includes nine clubs that are relevant for Wikipedia. On the other hand, Winterthur clubs play at the top nationally in the sports of floorball , handball and cycling . And the individual sports clubs in Winterthur also had several strong exponents in their history, some of them also winning an Olympic or world championship title.

In the following list, a distinction is made between team and individual sports, with tennis being assigned to team sports because of its inter-club leagues and chess. The handball sections of the gymnastics clubs, the bike ball section of RV Winterthur and the water polo section of SC Winterthur are each managed with their own entries in the team sports.
