== History ==
Founded in the [[California Central Coast|Central Coast]] region of California in 1947 by Joe Scolari (now run by sons Joey & Jerry Scolari). In 1982 it purchased the [[Warehouse Markets]] chain of Reno, Nevada; they have since moved their base of operations to Nevada, where the bulk of their stores are located. In 1991 they changed their corporate name to Scolari's Food and Drug to reflect their expanding role.

The Irish Cricket Union was formally dissolved on 3rd February 2008 at its annual general meeting. A new board with 11 members will run cricket in Ireland and encourage "increasing professionalism that is needed in modern sport".<ref>{{cite web|title=Company to run sport in Ireland |url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/ireland/7225456.stm |publisher=BBC Online |date=2008-02-03 |accessdate=2008-02-14 }}</ref>

The Irish Cricket Union (Irish: Cumann Cruicéid na hÉireann), also known as CricketIreland, is the governing body for cricket in Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), and oversees the Ireland cricket team.

Ireland's greatest cricketing success to date was a victory by three wickets over Pakistan in a 2007 Cricket World Cup group match. This was overshadowed by the sudden death of the Pakistan Coach Bob Woolmer. Ireland also managed to beat the West Indies in their prime in 1928 and put in a good performance against Bangladesh and won in the world cup.

The Irish Cricket Union was formally dissolved on 3rd February 2008 at its annual general meeting. A new board with 11 members will run cricket in Ireland and encourage "increasing professionalism that is needed in modern sport".[1]

Notable players are JP Bray, William Porterfield (on trial at Gloucestershire), David Langford-Smith, the O'Brien brothers, Trent Johnston and Andre Botha.
