Abigail Leigh Spencer

Abigail Leigh Spencer (born August 4, 1981 in Gulf Breeze, Florida) is an American actress. Her first major acting role was playing Rebecca "Becca" Tyree on All My Children. She later starred in Lifetime Television's original series Angela's Eyes, which was cancelled on December 1, 2006.

Biography

Abigail was born and raised in Gulf Breeze, Florida and is the middle of three children. She has two brothers, Yancy Spencer IV (born c. 1974) and Sterling Spencer (born c. 1985). Their mother is Cuban-American. In her early childhood, Abigail entered in the pageant system at the age of 4 and won the state title at the age of 11. She credits this early experience with help dealing gracefully with disappointments.

Coming from a large extended family, Abigail grew up in a very supportive environment. Every year at family talent shows or reunions, the family would gather round to listen to Abi/Abby's newest favorite song. This gave her great practice the years to come.

Early life and career

An accomplished vocalist, Abigail traveled with her church choir in Germany in her freshman year in 1996 at Gulf Breeze High School. A highlight of her sophomore year was her audition into the Broadway Theatre Project in 1997, helmed by Ann Reinking. Along with continuing to study drama and dance, her junior year was spent focusing on student government in 1997/1998. It was her senior year in 1999 that everything came together for Spencer. Along with choreographing and starring as "Rizzo" in a high school production of Grease, she beat out hundreds of other young hopefuls for the role of "Becca" and got call from All My Children. After attending her senior prom and graduating from Gulf Breeze High School in 1999, Spencer headed for Manhattan and All My Children.

Personal life

In her spare time, Abigail enjoys yoga, pilates, and dance class. She is currently living in Encino Hills with her husband Andrew Pruett.
