Koštabona (Italian: Costabona) is a village in the Koper Municipality in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It lies on a hill above the river Dragonja. Archaeological evidence shows that the site was inhabited in prehistoric times. In Late Antiquity it was an impotant Roman fortress Castrum Bonae guarding the trade route through the Dragonja valley and its name is derived from the Latin. [2]

The Parish Church the settlement is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian.[3]
