Batăr is a commune located in Bihor County, Romania. The village is situated in south-western county, near the border with Hungary. Settlement developed long of the river Crişul Negru and consists of the villages Batăr, Arpasel, Talpos and Taut.

Commune extends into an area of plain (Plain Crişurilor), suitable for cultivation of cereals. Agricultural work is carried out extensively on the thousands of hectares fertile. The inhabitants are mainly dealing with agriculture, and some working in the bakery or in the textile city neighbor, Salonta.

Public roads are mostly asphalt, the main street parcusul being a gas station.

From 2005-2006 the village benefited from a better coverage of the radio signal the location of the 2 relays mobile.

Since 2009 part of the wireless connectivity users are connected to cable (FTP + UDP) Internet (Sc. Norcable [1] Internet Ltd. distributor of Oradea)

Educational institutions of the commune are number 5, school Batăr town with a modern computer lab (with internet connection).

Among the improvements, facilities and utilities are establishing a commercial space (market) with operating weekly (Saturday), the restructuring of the lighting and the introduction of a sanitation service.
