Weightlifting at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's 56 kg

The Men's 56kg weightlifting event is the lightest men's event at the Weightlifting competition. The whole competition will take place on August 10, but divided in two parts. Group B weightlifters compete at 10:00, and Group A, at 19:00. This event will be the third Weightlifting event to conclude.

The Athens gold medalist, Turkish Halil Mutlu is not in Beijing to attempt his 4th straight gold medal.[1]
